Talking to a customer recently that we were working on a project for and I asked him how a job was going that we quoted for another site 2 years ago, but missed out on.
His reply was, “Oh, that project is a disaster, we are still having to mix product for them as the mix tanks cant do the job, the pumps have to be throttled back as they are incapable of the expected flow rate………..”
The Engineering manager was made redundant.
Obviously the alternative supplier to us was cheaper, but was it really given the result.
We take an intense interest in our customers and if they don’t win, we don’t win. If the project fails, apart from the customer losing money, we get a bad name and this has a flow on effect jeopardizing future work for ourselves with that customer and potentially other companies as well.
